Health and Safety. To the benefit of our employees

Our health and safety policy, which is keyed to prevention and sustainability, protects and promotes the safety and health of our employees and maintains and increases their performance.

Holistic occupational health promotion is an integral part of our corporate culture.

Our objectives: prevention, systematic learning processes and changes in health-related behaviour.

Our strategy: active participation of all employees from the very beginning, clear goals and corresponding responsibilities and budgets as well as comprehensive controlling of the measures.

Our awards – a selection: quality seal for occupational health promotion at all Austrian locations, “MOVE Europe” award of the EU for the project “Work in tune with life”.

Health & Safety Management System
Our integrated H&S-Management system, which has been introduced at all sites, aims to prevent disruptions in operational procedures in the areas of health and safety at work, minimises them and makes an important contribution to the company’s success. The H&S management system also improves legal security vis-à-vis employees, customers and the authorities.

 
Focal points:

Safe work place and minimisation of psychological stress
The wide variety of measures taken in the area of health and safety at work attach special attention to both ergonomic and safe design of the workplace and to the prevention and minimisation of psychological stress.

Strengthening personal health competence and work-life balance
In the Health & Safety sector RHI has carried out extensive work-life balance activities for several years and gives its employees the opportunity to have a health profile created regularly by occupational medicine as part of the health screenings on offer. Strengthening personal health competence is the best prevention.

Examples of continued and new projects:
Health panels. Objective: motivation for health and sports. Establishment of health measures and sports activities such as the establishment of sports clubs, participation in health check-ups, marathons, etc.

Pro-fit weeks. Objectives: conveying and implementing health-relevant behaviour. A seminar week provided by RHI free of charge for all employees. Focus on: stress management, healthy diet, prevention of spine and cardiovascular disease.

Work-life balance. Objectives: counteracting stress and burdens by increasing resources. Employees get to know their own stress behaviour by means of biofeedback, impulse test and quality-of-life index according to Elliot.
